Tourist development, Lowestoft, Suffolk
The Challenge
Our client purchased a mobile home park on the coast just outside Lowestoft. Planning permission had been granted for the use of the land as a touring caravan and park homes site in the 1980’s. The whole site was wooded and subject to a Tree Preservation Order. The site was located on a cliff top. As with much of the east coast, the cliffs are subject to erosion.
The Solution
Our clients planned to extend the site with timber lodges. Evidence was submitted to show that the lodges could be placed within the trees and that the development could be moved back as the cliff edge eroded. Permission has been obtained for the siting of 31 timber cabins.
